The Central Bank of Argentina has signed a $20 billion currency stabilization agreement with the U.S. Treasury to address forex volatility ahead of midterm elections, as the peso hit a record low.
The agreement enables bilateral currency swap operations, expanding Argentina’s monetary tools, while U.S. support hinges on the continuation of fiscal reforms by President Javier Milei’s administration.
