Antarctica’s oldest ice cores, retrieved from depths of 2,800 meters at Little Dome C, have arrived in the UK for analysis at the British Antarctic Survey, aiming to extend the climate record to 1.5 million years. This international project, funded by the European Commission, seeks to understand climate shifts and improve predictions for future changes by examining key environmental indicators linked to atmospheric CO₂ levels.
