Another Marineland beluga whale dies, Ontario says water quality is ’acceptable’

In a rare interview, the province’s chief animal welfare inspector, Melanie Milczynski, stated that recent marine mammal deaths at Marineland in Niagara Falls have not been linked to water quality issues, despite the water not meeting care standards until recently. Government records show that five belugas have died at the park in the last year, with a total of 17 beluga deaths since late 2019. Additionally, other marine animals such as a killer whale, dolphins, seals, sea lions, and penguins have also died at the park in the past five years.
