Jon Brilliant joined Harrods in 2000 to relaunch its online business, where he was plied with envelopes of cash by Mohamed Al Fayed in an attempt to control and compromise him. Al Fayed’s manipulation included surveillance, sackings, and a culture of secrecy to prevent top managers from questioning his actions or treatment of women. Several former directors confirmed this environment, with Mr Brilliant eventually being fired after refusing to be bought or compromised.
