Activist Paul Watson won’t face extradition by Denmark to Japan

Anti-whaling activist Paul Watson was released from prison in Greenland and will not be extradited to Japan, where he faced a 15-year sentence. Japan had requested his extradition for obstructing a whaling ship’s duties in 2010. Watson, founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, was arrested in Greenland in July and is now free to return home after the Danish Justice Ministry’s decision.
