Russia Drags Its Heels Over Ukraine Ceasefire Proposal While Still Firing Out Abuse At Europe

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia’s top diplomat, Sergei Lavrov, have yet to formally respond to America’s proposed 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, with Putin insisting on a resolution for permanent peace and refusing to make concessions. Lavrov, on the other hand, has insulted Europe by calling European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen the “fuhrer” and accusing the continent of falling apart and re-militarizing. Despite Moscow’s reluctance to respond, US officials like Marco Rubio and Mike Waltz are pressuring Russia to accept the ceasefire, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warns of “strong steps” from the US if Russia rejects the proposal.
