Adam Gosling, a 39-year-old man nicknamed ‘Hamster’ by Greggs staff, was caught stealing nearly £2,000 worth of food from a Greenford branch of the bakery chain in 38 separate incidents between December 30, 2025, and February 10, 2026. Captured on CCTV, he brazenly took multiple drinks during his thefts, which ranged from £12.30 to £100 per visit. Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court sentenced him to four months in prison, suspended for one year, after he pleaded guilty to all charges. Authorities emphasized their commitment to tackling shoplifting, which has reportedly decreased in the area.
