China’s navy has commissioned a new Type 054B frigate, the Luohe, equipped with stealth technology and advanced weaponry to enhance combat effectiveness in the face of rising competition, particularly from the U.S. The ship, part of the world’s largest navy with 234 warships, will play a key role in protecting China’s interests in the South China Sea and possibly in any potential conflict with Taiwan. Despite concerns about outnumbering, China continues to expand its naval capabilities, with plans for additional frigates and aircraft carriers to assert its dominance in the region.
