A magnitude 6 earthquake struck southern Taiwan, with the USGS recording the epicenter near Yujing. The Taiwan Central Weather Administration reported a magnitude of 6.4, with no immediate reports of deaths but some injuries and damage, including a collapsed house in Tainan city. Last April, a magnitude 7.4 quake hit Taiwan’s eastern coast, resulting in 13 deaths and over 1,000 injuries, as the island sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire.”
