Two men who were the faces of a COVID-19 protest blockade at a key border crossing will learn their fates Friday after being found guilty of mischief over $5,000 last year. The Crown has recommended a nine-month sentence for Marco Van Huigenbos and six months for Gerhard (George) Janzen, who played a lesser leadership role in the blockade. Van Huigenbos expressed relief at the case coming to a close, while Janzen apologized for the stress caused by the protest and expressed a commitment to seeking more constructive ways to express his views in the future.
