Oysters in different provinces recalled for norovirus: CFIA
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for certain oysters distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario due to possible norovirus contamination, specifically Fanny Bay, Sunseeker, and Cloudy Bay oysters under the Taylor Shellfish Canada brand harvested and processed in early December. Consumers are advised to discard or return the affected oysters, as norovirus symptoms can include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, and stomach cramps, with severe cases possibly requiring hospitalization and intravenous treatment. The agency emphasizes seeking medical care if experiencing symptoms and notes that the report was first published on December 21, 2024.
