In the wake of the Polytechnique massacre in 1989, survivor Nathalie Provost has been advocating for stricter gun control laws in Canada. It took over 30 years for the gun used in the shooting to be banned, leading Provost to call for further reinforcement of laws to restrict the circulation of assault-style weapons.
