An online ticket purchased in B.C. has landed the big prize in Friday night’s draw

A B.C. lottery player who bought a ticket on PlayNow.com has landed an $18-million Lotto Max jackpot.
The lucky winner matched all seven numbers to win the top prize in Friday’s draw: 8, 16, 24, 28, 40, 41 and 47.

The B.C. Lottery Corporation says the ticket was purchased on its online site, the only legal, regulated gambling website in the province.
The odds of winning a Lotto Max jackpot are 1 in 33,294,800 for each $5 play.

The winner has a year from the Feb. 23 draw date to claim the prize. Once the player comes forward, the winner’s name will be announced.
B.C. lottery players picked up over $212 million in prizes on Lotto Max last year. The largest Lotto Max prize ever awarded in B.C. was a $70-million jackpot won in September 2021.
Lotto Max is played across Canada with draws every Tuesday and Friday at 7:30 p.m. PT. Tickets can be bought at retailers and on BCLC’s PlayNow.com site.
Tuesday’s Lotto Max jackpot is $10 million, while Wednesday’s Lotto 6/49 top prize is $54 million.
