Eight people died and two were hospitalized following a mass shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia on February 10, 2026. Prime Minister Mark Carney and Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre attended a vigil on February 13, but local residents largely stayed away, preferring to grieve privately. The RCMP continues to investigate the incident, which involved firearms of unknown origin, and is seeking additional evidence from the public. Autopsies of the victims and the shooter are expected to be completed soon, while two surviving victims remain in hospital.
