As It Happens8:39Art exhibit celebrates the work of painter killed in Lapu Lapu Day attack

Nadine Kelln and Jenifer Darbellay, friends for over a decade, planned an art exhibit called Gaze and Connect to showcase their paintings, but Darbellay was tragically killed in a car-ramming attack during the Lapu Lapu Day festival in Vancouver. The exhibit will honor Darbellay’s artistry, with her husband, Noel Johansen, expressing that her work deserves wider recognition. Both Kelln and Johansen reflect on the significance of connection and love in healing, especially in light of recent tragedies. The exhibit runs from February 13-22 at Gallery 1710 in Tsawwassen, B.C., featuring works by Darbellay, Kelln, and artist Heather Edelmeier.
