Hamilton Soldier Who Died in Latvia to Be Repatriated

A Hamilton soldier, 24-year-old Sebastian Halmagean, who died in Latvia near Riga, will be honored at a repatriation ceremony on Tuesday, with the circumstances of his death under investigation. The Canadian Department of National Defence announced that the ceremony will take place at 8 Wing/Canadian Forces Base Trenton in Quinte West, Ontario. Halmagean’s body is expected to arrive at 2:30 p.m. ET, with the ceremony starting shortly after.
