Mount Maunganui Landslide Victim Identified

Jackie Wheeler, a 71-year-old woman from Rotorua, has been identified as the sixth and final victim of the Mount Maunganui landslide by the coroner. She was on an annual camping trip with her friend Susan Knowles, who also lost her life in the tragedy. The landslide struck the Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park, destroying tents, caravans, and other structures. Rescue efforts began after six people were reported unaccounted for.
