SEOUL and LONDON — North Korea launched two short-range ballistic missiles on Tuesday, hours after U.S. defense official Elbridge Colby’s visit to South Korea. The missiles, which traveled approximately 350 kilometers, landed in the Sea of Japan, violating U.N. Security Council resolutions and prompting strong protests from Japan. South Korea’s military is closely monitoring North Korea’s activities, maintaining readiness to respond to provocations. No damage has been reported from the launches.
