Parti Québécois Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon announced that an independent Quebec would recognize dual citizenship, allowing residents to keep both Canadian and Quebec passports. During a convention in St-Hyacinthe, he outlined plans for citizenship for Quebec residents and Canadians born in the province, as well as support for francophones in Canada.
