During the development of the first Star Wars film, George Lucas considered replacing Anthony Daniels’ voice for C-3PO, feeling it did not fit the character’s persona. Despite filming already completed, Lucas auditioned over 100 actors for a new voice, aiming for a different take on the droid. Ultimately, after receiving advice from an auditioning actor that Daniels’ voice suited the character perfectly, Lucas chose to retain him.
