During the development of the first Star Wars film, George Lucas considered replacing Anthony Daniels’ voice for C-3PO, feeling it did not fit the character’s persona. Despite filming already completed, Lucas auditioned over 100 actors for a new voice, aiming for a different take on the droid. Ultimately, after receiving advice from an auditioning actor that Daniels’ voice suited the character perfectly, Lucas chose to retain him. Daniels has since become an iconic figure, appearing in multiple Star Wars films and media.
