The B.C. Court of Appeal has granted interim release to Farshad Khojsteh Kashani, a medical aesthetics spa owner convicted of seven counts of sexual assault, pending his appeal. Justice Susan Griffin noted his compliance with prior bail conditions, the Crown’s agreement he poses no current safety risk, and his willingness to surrender passports and submit to electronic monitoring. Kashani, sentenced to 11 years in prison, was found guilty of invasive offenses involving multiple complainants. He is required to surrender himself for the appeal hearing set for mid-April.
