Rode has launched the Rodecaster Video S, a more compact and affordable version of its original Rodecaster Video console, priced at $499 compared to the original’s $1,199. While it maintains essential features like switching and mixing multiple video/audio sources and chroma keying, it has fewer HDMI inputs (three versus four) and a lighter design. The device is aimed at established podcasters venturing into video, offering integrated functions for livestreaming and recording. Although it lacks some outputs found in the original, it retains compatibility with professional microphones and USB devices.
