The Palestinian group Hamas announced it will hand over the bodies of three Israeli captives this evening under a ceasefire agreement, with the remains being transferred at 8 pm local time. Since the ceasefire began on October 10, Hamas has released 20 Israeli captives alive and the remains of 19 out of 28. Israel has linked further negotiations to the complete handover of all hostage remains, while Hamas cites the devastation in Gaza as a reason for delays. Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have resulted in approximately 69,000 deaths, primarily among women and children.
