Starting December 26, the U.S. will require all non-citizens, including Canadians, to be photographed when entering and leaving the country, as part of new Department of Homeland Security regulations aimed at enhancing biometric data collection for identity verification, combating visa overstays, and reducing passport fraud. This initiative will utilize facial recognition technology and may also involve collecting additional biometrics, such as fingerprints and DNA, affecting even those previously exempt, like minors and seniors.
