Man accused of attacking Elnaz Hajtamiri goes on trial

A violent attack on Elnaz Hajtamiri in her Richmond Hill condo’s parking garage led to her disappearance, with a 26-year-old Brampton man on trial for aggravated assault. Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for Harshdeep Binner, while Riyasat Singh faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, in connection with the alleged botched kidnapping attempt. Binner, accused of assaulting Hajtamiri with a frying pan, was arrested months later in an auto theft ring and his DNA was found at the crime scene.
