Children, refugees, and displaced people worldwide are facing the consequences of a funding crisis in the international aid sector, exacerbated by cuts in Washington, according to the UN children’s and refugee agencies. UNICEF has made significant strides in reducing child mortality and malnutrition, but these gains are now at risk due to recent funding cutbacks. Around 1.3 million children in Nigeria and Ethiopia could lose access to life-saving support, and UNICEF faces a supply chain breakdown that could impact 70,000 children in Ethiopia without new funding.
