An English scammer, Jack Dylan Hennessy, who impersonated a police courier to defraud pensioners of $337,700, has been granted early release from prison and will be deported from New Zealand next month. The 27-year-old was sentenced to three years and three months in November 2024 for premeditated offenses described as “reprehensible” by a judge. He admitted to 25 charges of obtaining by deception after being arrested shortly after his arrival in June 2024. Hennessy has been instructed not to return to New Zealand in the foreseeable future.
