MetService Forecast: Humid Nights Followed by Heavy Rain and Gales

Muggy nights are expected as temperatures rise before a drastic drop due to heavy rain and severe gales affecting New Zealand. The wild weather will begin impacting Fiordland today and much of the country by Friday. MetService meteorologist Michael Pawley noted that a moist air mass will lead to uncomfortably warm overnight temperatures, with Auckland reaching around 20°C.
