Iran Conducts Military Drill in Strait of Hormuz Ahead of US Talks

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a military drill in the Strait of Hormuz to assess naval operational readiness and security plans just before a second round of indirect nuclear negotiations with the U.S. The exercise is intended to demonstrate Iran’s military capabilities amid rising tensions, particularly following the deployment of U.S. aircraft carriers in the region. Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi warned that any conflict would serve as a lesson for the U.S. president. Despite these tensions, negotiations mediated by Oman are set to resume in Geneva.
