Somalia’s federal cabinet has ratified a maritime cooperation agreement with Turkey, enhancing bilateral relations in the transport and port sectors. The agreement aims to exchange expertise in maritime transport, covering areas such as maritime trade development, vessel traffic management, and port service modernization. Additionally, it includes mutual recognition of seafarers’ competency certificates and technical cooperation. Turkey and Somalia’s cooperation has notably grown since 2011, spanning various sectors including economy and infrastructure.
