Trump advises Iraq not to re-elect Nouri al-Maliki

US President Donald Trump warned that the U.S. would withdraw support for Iraq if former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who is backed by pro-Iranian Shia parties, is re-elected. On Truth Social, Trump criticized al-Maliki’s past leadership, claiming it led to poverty and chaos, and urged Iraq to avoid repeating that mistake. He emphasized that without U.S. assistance, Iraq would have no chance for success, prosperity, or freedom.
