Jordan’s King Abdullah II has instructed the preparation of a comprehensive strategy for a structural transformation of the army over the next three years to address evolving threats and technological changes. In his letter to Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, he emphasized modernizing the armed forces’ organizational structure and integrating advanced technologies, including cyber defense and AI. The king also called for reorienting the Jordan Design and Development Bureau to enhance defense manufacturing capabilities. This initiative comes amid a turbulent regional security environment, highlighting the need for the Jordanian army to adapt to non-conventional warfare challenges.
