Sudan asks international community to pressure UAE on arms support
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Sudan’s ambassador to the UN, Hassan Hamid, urged the international community to exert pressure on the UAE for allegedly supplying weapons to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) amid a devastating conflict with the Sudanese army that started in April 2023. The ongoing war has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and millions displaced, with the RSF gaining control in Darfur, raising fears of further division in Sudan. Hamid called for immediate action to halt the UAE’s support for the RSF, labeled a terrorist militia. The Sudanese army has previously accused the UAE of providing arms and mercenaries through various countries.
