Israeli navy seizes Gaza-bound aid flotilla, arrests those on board – Middle East Monitor

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition reported losing contact with the aid ship Madleen after Israeli forces boarded the vessel in international waters while it was en route to Gaza, detaining those aboard. Israeli media confirmed that commandos from the navy’s Shayetet 13 unit seized control of the ship without injuries and directed it to Ashdod Port, while the Israeli Foreign Ministry stated the activists would be returned to their home countries. The coalition condemned the Israeli action as a “kidnapping,” and Turkiye called it a violation of international law, highlighting the presence of Turkish citizens and activist Greta Thunberg on board.
