The United Nations children’s agency UNICEF reported a severe deterioration in the Gaza Strip due to Israel’s ongoing siege, citing relentless airstrikes and a lack of essential supplies. The organization urged for an immediate ceasefire and the resumption of humanitarian aid, as Israel has blocked crossings since March 2, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis affecting nearly 2.4 million residents. Meanwhile, an Israeli aid delivery plan has been dismissed by the UN and international aid groups as unworkable and harmful, while the Israeli military continues its operations, which have resulted in over 53,300 Palestinian deaths since October 7, 2023.
