Heavy rains makes May Delhi’s wettest ever on record

Delhi recorded its wettest May since 1901, receiving 186.4 mm of rainfall, surpassing the previous record set in 2008. A significant downpour on Sunday contributed 81.4 mm of rain accompanied by winds reaching 82 kmph, leading to waterlogging and flight disruptions. The temperature at the Safdarjung observatory saw a sharp decline, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more light rain and thunderstorms for the week ahead.
