After emergency talks, Yunus to stay on as B'desh interim chief: Report

Bangladesh’s interim chief, Muhammad Yunus, will remain in office, as confirmed by advisers following a closed-door council meeting amid resignation speculation. Despite earlier indications of possible resignation due to political and military pressure, planning adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud stated Yunus has not expressed intentions to step down. As tensions rise over election timelines and political discord, Yunus is set to meet with leaders from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Jamaat-e-Islami to discuss the situation further.
