Russian attacks on Ukraine energy could trigger 'tipping point': UN

The UN warned that renewed Russian targeting of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure this winter could worsen hardships and trigger mass movements of people, with 3.7 million already displaced and 6.7 million refugees. With 65% of energy production capacity destroyed, Ukraine faces a challenging winter, as millions experienced blackouts and cold last year. Matthias Schmale urged for more funds towards a $500-million winter response plan for Ukraine to address the worsening situation.
