Alfred Latu Sentenced for Shooting Teen in Auckland Road Rage

Auckland man Alfred Latu, 27, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for shooting a 15-year-old girl during a road rage incident on May 16, 2023, leaving her with serious but non-fatal injuries. Judge Stephen Bonnar noted the lasting psychological impact on the victims and remarked that it was “pure dumb luck” that the injuries were not fatal, as the bullet was perilously close to her heart.
