ZOOTOPIA 2 Becomes Highest Grossing Animated Film at $1.7 Billion

The Disney film Zootopia 2 has surpassed Inside Out 2 as the studio’s highest-grossing animated movie, earning $1.7 billion worldwide, making it the 9th highest grossing film ever. Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, it achieved a record-breaking $559.5 million opening over Thanksgiving 2025. While it ranks as the top global MPA release of 2025, China’s Ne Zha 2 remains the highest-grossing animated film globally at $2.2 billion. Disney now boasts the top three animated MPA releases with Zootopia 2, Inside Out 2, and Frozen 2.
