Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to use Quran for swearing-in

New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will make history on New Year’s Day by being sworn in using the Quran, becoming the city’s first Muslim mayor. The private ceremony will be hosted by Attorney General Letitia James, followed by a public inauguration with Sen. Bernie Sanders.
