Zika virus case detected in Gujarat, patient discharged after treatment | Ahmedabad News

A 70-year-old man from Gandhinagar city in Gujarat contracted Zika virus infection and was treated in a hospital before being discharged after full recovery. The virus is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes and can cause symptoms like rash, fever, conjunctivitis, and joint pain, with potential risks during pregnancy. The man was initially admitted for cold, fever, and joint pain before being transferred to an Ahmedabad hospital where samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology for confirmation.
