Christchurch childcare company acknowledges safety failures after children’s injuries

The childcare company Kindercare in Woolston has admitted to safety failures after seven individuals, including five children, suffered chemical burns from a mistaken application of a kitchen steriliser on a slip and slide. Emergency services responded to the incident, and all affected were discharged from Christchurch Hospital by Saturday morning. In a letter to parents, Kindercare acknowledged its failure to uphold safety standards. The incident highlights significant concerns regarding safety protocols at the facility.
