Three Christchurch women have been murdered in their homes by men with extensive violent histories against women, despite being subject to monitoring and supervision conditions meant to ensure public safety. Nathan Boulter, released just 13 days prior, fatally attacked Chantal McDonald in July 2025. The offenders had documented records of abuse, including previous kidnappings and assaults, raising urgent calls for reforms in the management of such individuals.
