Red Beach tragedy: Paddler pulled face-down from water after outrigger capsizes

Two strangers rescued an unresponsive paddler after an outrigger capsized at Red Beach in Auckland. One of the rescuers, Harlem Scalabrini, described how he and another man swam to the man who was face down in the water, pulling him to safety on rocks. Despite being airlifted to Stanmore Bay, the paddler was tragically pronounced dead shortly after the rescue.
