Kimberley Football Participation Surge

Participation among Auskick-aged girls in Kimberley football has surged by 37%, with 306 girls joining the program this year, while boys’ registrations rose by 17% to 511. Broome Auskick co-ordinator Adam Goedecke noted the establishment of a girls-only Auskick group and engagement sessions with Fremantle Football Club contributed to this growth. Overall, Kimberley football registrations increased by 29%, and WA Football achieved a record of over 90,000 participants statewide. The focus remains on making the sport more inclusive and accessible, aiming for one million participants by 2033.
