X is introducing a new feature called “About this account,” which will provide users with additional information about accounts, including their location, username change history, and the country of origin. Currently in rollout, the feature aims to enhance content authenticity on the platform, similar to transparency features on Facebook and Instagram. Users can view their own account details but may not yet access others’ information until the rollout is complete. Privacy toggles will allow users to choose how much information is displayed, with disclaimers for those using VPNs.
