Liner operator X-Press Feeders is accelerating its fleet renewal programme with the order of six 11,000 teu newbuilds in China from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, to be delivered between Q3 2027 and Q4 2028. These neopanamax ships, costing an estimated $130m each, will be methanol-ready and scrubber-fitted, marking the largest containerships ordered by the company and planned for deployment on core trade routes. This order follows a previous one for four similar vessels earlier in the year, with the total investment reaching $780m.
