Jehovah’s Witnesses are hosting a major international conference in Auckland from January 9-11, attracting around 20,000 attendees, including 3,500 delegates from 20 countries. The event is expected to fill 38 hotels and generate approximately $20 million for the local economy, with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited confirming the forecasted impact. Hotel occupancy rates are currently at 85%, significantly higher than the previous year’s 61% for the same period. This gathering represents a substantial boost for the city’s hospitality sector.
